Room-by-Room

Family Room

Let's start with the family room because we spend most of our time here.  It's where Luke plays the most since we can keep an eye on him so easily.  Guess what that means . . . toys, toys, and more toys.  I need to find a creative, yet eye-appealing way to store Luke's toys.  It needs to be easy and safe for him to open, close, and reach inside.  It needs to be big enough to store toys of all shapes and sizes, yet fit easily in the corner of a room.

I'm not really into a loud, brightly colored space that screams toy-box.  I wouldn't mind that if it was in a playroom.

Thoughts...

Should I try multiple, smaller storage bins, or find one larger one?
How do I "put away" the large items that he can push around?
Should I do 2 tubs - one for his favorite toys and one for all the others?

This is my place to think because I will surely be distracted from my thoughts and ideas by Luke  in a split-second without revisiting said thoughts and ideas for days, weeks, or months!  It all seems so silly, doesn't it?  I'm really thinking this thoroughly about toy storage?  I want to give a lot of thought to it now so I don't have to think about it much later when we pick up his toys and move them out of the way!
